“Climate change is no longer a doomsday prophecy, it’s a reality.” Astrid Noklebye Heiberg. Generations have seen the change around the world caused by the climate change and they have ignored it. The Paris agreement was the first step taken to prevent the death of the planet, and it was proposed many goals to reach before 2020 so a future would be ensured. The Paris agreement had to be created because of the rise of temperature, the rise of the sea level and especially because it was a way of making everyone aware of the problem human-caused.
The planet works as a greenhouse were the gases help maintain an ideal temperature making possible the existence of living creatures. Human beings have produced an enormous amount of gases causing the planet’s temperature to rise. “The global average surface temperature rose from 0.6 to 0.9 degrees Celsius, and the rate of temperature increase has almost doubled ”(April 2019, The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica).
The temperature rise has caused ice melting around the world adding more water to the sea. This addition has affected the sea currents because there is more sweet water than salty water making a disruption on the natural cycle. “Higher sea level me a deadly and destructive storm surges push farther inland than they once did, which means more frequent nuisance flooding.”(National Ocean service, 2018).
Like everything in life, there is always two sides of a story, for many people global warming is just Chinese inventions, words used by the United States President, Donald Trump. A creation made to decrease the economic advances, but it is proven that even though there have been moments through the history of temperature changes never there has being a rate of increase so high. As scientists prove every day, at the rate we are in less than 100 years the atmosphere on the planet won’t let human being, some plants, and animals live.
In conclusion, the Paris agreement was the first international step towards a balanced future between nature and human beings. It is really important that every single country archives the goals to assure every future generations will have a planet to live and will grow with a conscience about climate change.
